Jen asked: I rent an appartment that has black mold. I know for a fact it exists, my son replaced a section of a wall in his bedroom and it was covered with black mold. The damage was caused by water leaks from the toilet and tub. The landlord did send one of his workers out to clean it up but all he did was remove the old caulking, wip up water and moisture and apply new caulking around the tub and replace the toilet tank that was leaking. However the mold is still there and the fausets from the tub still leak. The landlord has been inform about the problem but keeps claiming no one has told him. He does not make repairs and if the tenats push the issues the landlord finds a way to evect the tenats or he either raises the rent or threatens to raise the rent. How can he be made to clean up the blasck mold and make repairs without the tenats having to worring about being evected?? I know one option is to move, however I am not in a position to do so at this point in time.
